So I have a blog, and each post will be based off of a product. I also want to post an affiliate link to that product on Amazon from each post. Will that hurt me SEO wise? It seems like the only way that makes sense to monetize the blog.

IMO, it won't hurt you, as long as each post is unique, relevant, and you don't overdo it on the affiliate links. Keep everything natural, and you'll be fine. Remember, Google's favorite word is "relevancy". Live it, learn it, and practice it!

There will be an affiliate link with every post, but it will be relevant and unique for sure. I have just heard that Google hates affiliate links in content.

I don't see why Google would hate affiliate links. We are trying to earn money! If they devalue sites with affiliate links they could probably be sued, since they have Adsense and all.
