I am getting started with amazon affiliate program. I tried to embed the link to the Kindle in a blog post etc and get a 404 page on the blog and nothing when I put it right into google. The amazon popup says to copy the html exactly and use it. What gives? Does it take a while after getting the link for it to become active?

    here is the link given:
    <iframe src="http://rcm.amazon.com/e/cm?lt1=_blank&bc1=000000&IS2=1&bg1=FFFFFF&fc1=000000&lc1=0000FF&t=heanshsa-20&o=1&p=8&l=as1&m=amazon&f=ifr&md=10FE9736YVPPT7A0FBG2&asins=B000BT4W2C" style="width:120px;height:240px;" scrolling="no" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" frameborder="0"></iframe>

    here is the blog:

Thanks for any help you can give!

I had this happen to me a couple of times but eventually got it working. It took over 24 hours for mine to become active. Try again and wait a bit.
    Good luck

The link seems REALLY long. This can't be right.

That's an <iframe> tag. Could it be that your post doesn't allow that specific tag?

It works well on my test page. I just copied and pasted it and everything displayed properly, I guess the problem is with Wordpress.
My guess is that the free wordpress does not allow affiliate links. Might be a good idea to read the FAQ's though.

    Good luck!

I am finding it is an issue with wordpress.

Did you copy and paste the entire link I posted? It doesn't bring anything up for me (and seems quite long). Am I supposed to use a shortened version?

The problem is with wordpress, looks like they don't allow affiliate codes on their site.
This is how I tested it: create a simple HTML page and paste your affiliate code there. It should work.

I would suggest you check out Wordpress terms to see what they say about affiliate links.

    Good luck
