Affiliate link in signature?

Does most of the forums/BB's allow to add affiliate link in signature ?

 

Yes i think you can add affiliate link in signature but we are not allowed to promote it via thread or pms .

 

I did same on number of forums. (that is i participated in discussions added my link in signature) . But most of forums removed my link telling me that they donot allow advertising in signatures (i never asked anyone to visit on my link simply added it in my signature) ...
now are these forums trying to be mean .?

 

well on dp no one will stop you to put your affiliate link in signatures

Also it's popular to buy somebodies signature
it's pretty good advertising in our pharmacy industry for example.

That's right. DP is ok with affiliate links in the signature.

But most of the forums I am a member of do not want affiliate links appearing in posts/signatures at all.

This forum probably gained its popularity by not being "anal" about such things. Just respect the reasonable rules here and all is ok.

 

I thought there was a rule against affiliate links here too ....

Yes I have found that. I only know of two forums that do allow it.
