Affiliate Link Cloaking Questions

So I was wondering if someone could possibly answer each of the following questions with a simple True or false. Thank you.

    1. Clickbank changed there hop link so that it looks like http://letters&numbers.hop.clickbank.net/ instead of http://laffiliate.vendor.hop.clickbank.net/.

    2. When promoting clickbank products sometimes your affiliate ID will not show in the URL because it depends on what the merchant does with there site.

    3. One reason to cloak an affiliate ID would be to hide it so that when a mouse hovers over it you cannot see the actual affiliate link.

    4. When people click on your affiliate link and are brought to the product site and your affiliate ID shows in the URL someone can replace that affiliate ID with theirs and take your commission.

    5. Kinda similar to 3 and 4. When the affiliate link is cloaked with tinyurl and someone clicks on it they cannot steal your commissions from there on out because the cookie is embedded now so even if they replaced your affiliate ID with theirs you will still make the commission.

    I'll skip 1 and 2 as I don't use ClickBank much,

The main reasons to cloak links are reason 3 you've listed above, for user experience. A user feels more confident clicking www.yourdomain.com/link.php? rather than h32gf6f6fh.hop.clickbank.net

The other biggest reason is it makes it harder for people to find your affiliate site. With some clever searching someone could find most clickbank affiliates for a specific niche. Cloaking makes this more difficult.

4 is somewhat irrelevant really, I guess it's a minor benefit but not really a major concern as there arent many cases thatd be applicable.

5 is false in most cases. most affiliate networks work on a 'last cookie' policy, meaning that a new cookie will overwrite any old ones on the system as the latest hoplink click is considered most relevent to the sale.

Lost in your questions in cloaking is another common practice, the metarefresh. Within your redirect you can (with pretty good effectiveness), clear the session history. Which means your referring URL is not passed on to the network or merchant. It's never 100% effective but it can prevent the merchant from seeing your methods if you're going directly through them. And also can disguise when you're using traffic sources that the network or merchant may not like.

k so just to clarify so your saying 4 is possible but it just rarely happens? and lets say if 4 is possible someone could click the tinyurl link go to the product site replace the ID's and steal commissions? and if 4 is not possible pretty much I have nothing to worry about except cloaking the hoplink on a webpage so its less ugly? and lastly the redirect if I were to do this will clickbank be able to track my earning accuratly?

I have been using profit protecor to cloak my links, it will make them appear as an add on page to your main page.
