I'm gonna start with affiliating again...Last time (for about 1 year ago), it didn't go so well and I didn't earn a penny.

    A couple of beginner questions:
What type of website is best to have if you're going to start with affiliate programs?

And are there possibilities to get free traffic/or at least traffic that doesn't cost too much at the beginning?

How do you do it/did you start? Hope someone will share a little.

Of course, I've been looking around the forum and there's lot of great info, but it's okey to gather the beginning tips here maybe.. :)

Perhaps one of those "do an offer and receive cash" or "Survey" sites. If you have a product, make an affiliate program for it- your users will promote the product for you and you pay for sale, so no risk.
Ranking high in SE's is free traffic...
Make an affiliate program for your affiliate site :D
Sounds nice and people will promoti it to receive some small amount of money. But thats not free, however you will gain income from that.

Build a blog. There are many free one out there to choose. Then you could write an honest review about any affiliate products.

Once you have done step above then its better to start a social bookmarking submission. In most case, you would get traffic immediately.

Lol - no worries, I'm really slow with these things and wasn't even aware of social bookmarking until a few months back :-(

It's when visitors to your site bookmark it as a worthwhile place to visit - usually in the context of one of a number of social bookmarking sites they are members of. There are many, but some of the most popular include digg, stumbleupon, del.icio.us ...

The idea is that other members can view and share users' choices in what amounts to a massive, 'personalised' guide to the web. But of course, the system has also become a favourite with anyone trying to improve traffic to their sites.

You can get numerous little widgets for social bookmarking - code that you add to your site which produces a button making it easy for members to favourite your site - www.addthis.com - provides a very popular one.

Hope that helps a little bit.
