Hey, I'm new here...and Im wondering about this: How do you guys know your affiliate providers dont cheat on you? Do you purchase a couple of items through them every now and then to see? Also: What are some of the best converting/high profit margin programs? I know it makes no sense to try and be successful with a site ONLY b/c one thinks it yields big profits, but the other way around is probably not better , either: Id like to make 2 niche sites about music..about 2 specific artists. But all I could do is try to sell i-tunes for those specific artists (5 cent per song) or ringtones...and ringtones have horribly conversion rates, Ive heard...? thx
I don't want you to lose your spirt to affiliate marketing. building a site your interested in will help in the long run. sure you may make a few bucks on those related products. but eventually you can try to mix in high converting impulse sales items around the traffic that your building around your targeted artist and personal interest.
Can you give me any examples for high converting impulse sales items? I mean..just s.th. random if you have an example Id be less likely to steal ;-). I guess you suggest building an e-mail / opt-in list of the people who buy products, too so I can sell and sell again, right?
Your list will make you money. Be sure to treat them as real people though, otherwise, you will have a dead list... In affiliate programs, there is an unevitable ad tracking issue, but there is nothing you can do about that. Some of your affiliate commissions will be lost... That shouldn't stop you from promoting affiliate programs and make cash.
Say somebody goes on their site through my link, but doesnt buy right away..he remembers the URL and comes back to their site later to buy (direct sales peak around the 3rd exposure, right? and I never really buy right away, myself). Do they remember the IP adress and give you comissions on the sales even in that situation? Couldnt u prevent fraud like this, though: You give your clients..your list..a small discount on some products..in order to do so, youd have to know if somebody bought an affiliate product, right? or doesnt that really work for some other reason?
