Affiliate Contests

    Hi all,

It has been suggested to me to start an affiliate contest for my 40 CB products at http://www.richardmackenziedirect.com.

It was suggested that the terms of the contest would be the first affilate to bring in 300 sales (in 2009) would get a bonus of $500.

I would like to know if these terms would be favourable with perspective affiliates?

Also where could I advertise such a contest?

So, would you enter a contest like this?

Honestly, that is simply too many sales for too little bonus.

You want to do an obtainable bonus that makes tons of affiliates think "I can do that!". 300 sales will scare off a lot of intermediate affiliates.

I would run contests by the month. Either do, for exmple, most sales in the month of January gets $100. Or first person to 20 sales in January gets $100 bonus. These goals are obtainable by ALL affiliates and you will get a much better response and build a much higher awareness of your products!

Interesting... So, the first affiliate to get 20 sales in Jan would get $100? - that could be doable!

Would 30 sales be too much?

Would be interested what other affiliates think. I could really see how this could give my business that little extra boost and would love to get this underway sometime soon.

How many new affiliates could I expect to gain from a contest offering $100 for the first to get 20 sales this month?

The thing is, the lower you offer, the more affiliates that will try for it:

I would do this - First affiliate to 20 sales, winner announced at end of month. That way, the affiliates that may not win, will still keep pushing hard until the end of the month!

    OK Jim, Thanks.

So if I went with that, how many affiliates here would be interested? If I can get 10 to start then I guess I would love to get the contest started.

Lol Burtie that was just a suggestion to give you an overall idea, obviously the more money you offer to your affiliates the more interesting it'll be for your affiliates, just do the math as I showed you in my example when I PM you ;)

Well - i guess if I dont try I wont know. I just wanted to post here to see what other affiliates want from a contest and to see how much interest I would get before giving the idea a go.

I am really very interested to see how this is going to work. Also I was thinking of adding to the contest a raffle. Each affiliate that makes at least 2 sales automatically goes into a draw for and extra $50. Does that sould like a good idea? So in total that would be $150 up for grabs.

Simply put, the more money that you offer , the more affiliates that you will get pushing your product as long as your monthly threshold isn't too high.

What is your top affiliate putting through at the moment monthly?

So I take it that means he's selling about 30+ units a month?

I also notice you are only offering 50% which probably equates to just over $10 a sale . Around here you'd be lucky to get people pushing your product at that commission rate. Affiliates like to get 75% or at the very least 60%.

Changing your commission rate would be the first thing I do.

100 X 24.95 = $2495??? or were you talking about that's how much your top affiliate makes?

    Either way that's pretty good.

I like some of the niche mp3 you have there and I think there is potential.

Thats what my top guy turns out most months.

Thank You! Since launching the site the interest by affiliates has been mostly around the Feminization Hypnosis, Jealousy and some of the male sexual performance MP3 programs, but there are some other great niches in the other 40 products too.

Honestly, in my opinion, jack the price up to $29.95 or $34.95, and offer 75%. You'll get far more affiliates that way.

Originally the product was $49.50 but I did 50% off. Also I have upped the commission to 60% this evening but it takes time to update on clickbank.

    Burtie,

It's your products, but I'd urge you to test for a week at $29.95. I "think" you'll see NO difference in sales and a few more affiliates will promote. Hey, I may even jump in at that price. As a rule of thumb, affiliates are looking for a $20 or higher payout.

Yeah too many people come here with the brick and mortar approach, they need to understand is the more they offer affiliates the more they will make!!

300 sales is a lot. i don't think it would provide to much interest. would be better to lower the prize and lower the amount of sales.
