I am signing up with an affiliate directory and they require me to have an affiliate agreement or i should buy one for $50. Is this just some legal aggreement?

if so where can i get it for cheap? Anybody else got an affiliate agreement?
Is there anywhere you can get it for free ?

If you don't mind sharing, what directory are you listing on, so I can try and understand completely what you are asking? I'm assuming they are asking for you to post your TOS. Basically an agreement you will require all affiliates who join your program to agree to. The legal issues. Stuff like, they will agree to be can-spam compliant, won't change the creative without your permission, etc. All affiliate programs should have one of these to help protect yourself. These can typically be written up by yourself, but be sure to cover all basis. I'm not sure what they provide you with for this $50, but if you don't think you know how to write up an affiliate agreement, then it may be worth your $50 to protect yourself. :)

You can also look at the TOS of some of the better known affiliate networks and use them as a model in creating your own affiliate agreement.

It's the legal agreement between you and each affiliate, so I would suggest having a lawyer draft it for you.

It's an important document, and if you just crib an existing one, you're not necessarily going to cover all issues relevant to your business.

In the agreement you should identify the amount your are going to pay your affiliates, when you are going to pay them, about copyright issues, etc.

I think all affiliate programs have one of theses, so it would be best if you get one very soon.
