Affiliate & Adsense Same Website Different Pages

Discussion in 'Guidelines / Compliance' started by TheDrew831, Sep 15, 2009.

    Hello DPers,
Does anyone know if it is okay to have both affiliate marketing and adsense links on the same website? I would like them to be on the same page, but I think I remember reading somewhere that is not allowed. Assuming that is correct (may not be), would it be okay to have affiliate links and adsense on the same website as long as they aren't being displayed on the same pages or at the same time?
    Thanks
    Andrew C.

You can use both even on the same page but they should not look similar. Affiliate ads rarely look like AdSense ads so its ok to use them on the same page or if you want on different pages.

It's best to refer to adsense's help when you're forming an opinion, and not count on what you read here and there, because that's often outdated or just plain wrong.

Some affiliates don't allow adsense on the page. Basically it effects the affiliates so many avoid using adsense.

I think it is good if your affiliate things are not disliked by google. You can even use them on the same page if the quality of sites is good and it doesn't violate Google's terms

Affiliate links are fine on the same page as long as they are not contextual or as long as they are not made to look like a bank of Adsense ads.

I agree you should not take advice from a forum but get it direct from Google.

Here is info from Adsense that talks about what is not allowed.

Affiliate Incomes are very very high when compared to Google Adsense or other PPC ad network, but only if done correctly and expertly.

It doesn't look like you know anything about this topic, let alone having read it!
AdSense and affiliates can be on the same page, as long as it is not an affiliate for a content not alllowed by adsense! (ie. not porn, not casino, etc.)

The bit about contextual is wrong. A long time ago it was correct but since then adsense has changed its policy about contextual ad networks. They're now allowed just like every other, so the word contextual shouldn't even be mentionned anymore when talking about this topic.
