So I want to rank for a certain keyword, and I know that it helps if that keyword is in your domain name. My question is are you better off if that keyword is your exact domain name as opposed to having another word in there? i.e is it better to have keyword.com than something like keywordreviews.com or is it not that important? I can get just the keyword as the domain for about 13 bucks but if I throw in another word I can get a .info for like one buck so im not sure what to do.
The more I keep researching and testing this, the more I think that having an exact keyword domain might not actually be the best thing. I still think it's all about the backlinks... Think about the most popular sites out there, most of them are NOT exact keyword domains, and they all rank for major terms. Even sites like newgrounds.com which rank on the top 3 for "flash games" - the domain doesnt even have the word "game" in it. If your site is named something memorable (i.e., NOT usedblacktelephones.com), then you'll have a better chance of being remembered and associated with a product category... Just think about monster.com, orbitz.com, flickr.com, etc etc - the list goes on and on. I think the exact keyword domains matter most if you have a one word keyword - like hotels.com... just food for thought.
well keyword.com is always good but if you cant get it got head with keywordreviews.com or even better try using short words like mykeyword.com etc etc
