Aerial RC photography - how much should I charge?

A few of the local real estate agents are 'very interested' in getting a regular source of aerial photographs for their print and web advertisements.

Keeping in mind that they currently have no other option than to hire a pilot, a Cessna, and a photographer...

How much should I quote 'per property'?

I generally get apx 600-1000 photos per flight, of which around 100 would be usable. I would provide these to the estate agents on CD/DVD, colour corrected, sharpened, blablabla... print ready. Assuming I don't have to drive too far, my costs would be less than $20ish per flight.

These pics are a pretty crap example - but I can't be bothered to hunt down my newer pics. Only the first one was taken with my newish 5mpx Nikon, the others were taken a few years ago.

$20/Photograph seems Fair I suppose. Making it $2000 For 100.

i agree with xavier, possibly even a little higher considering it's such a small niche

you could actually research it as if you were the one needing the pictures, and see what some others would charge for the service too

They'll only need 2 photos for advertising, so I need to give them a 'per flight' price... I'll only end up with $40 if I charge per $20 photo.

Most of the properties will be in the $750K - $1 million range, so the real estate agents will be getting a tidy fee.
I was thinking something like $300 per flight. Or is that way too cheap?

I was thinking around $500 per flight. That way, they can request multiple property shots or what not. Like someone said, its a very small niche so take advantage of it. By the way, by RC do you mean radio controlled?

Yes - radio controlled. Basically just a camera stuck onto a big slow plane with a servo taped onto the shutter button.

That's sweet. Excellent idea for a small business.
