Adwords with new face.

After the great success in AdWords text ads Google has started providing click-to-play video ads. They will not charge anything for hosting such video ads.

You're a little late. Click to Play video ads were announced waaaaaaaaaaay back in March.

Anybody actually done this? I have yet to see any videos on the serps.

 

You won't see them in the serps - only the content network. I've seen them on a few sites in 300x250 ad locations.

I'm sure it's just like every other form of advertising - works better for some than others.
