If a site is not driving leads through adwords, will it be a worth trying yahoo ppc or to analyze the site itself as to where lies the problem. I have a portal on bags and running campains on google and and 1st problem is that rate per click is extereme higher and 2nd is that nothing getting converted. I donnt see any major problem with the site so i just wonders if adwords is not able to drive quality traffic for same what can yahoo do.
There are many reasons why your click traffic is not converting. Website Layout Design, and Demographics play a large roll in deciding whether or not will be successful. Google from my experience is great for high tech, knowledgeable leads, like for example someone looking for “redundant hard-drives for a server†and Yahoo/MSN are more adept for shopping and buying low tech more fashionable products, like “window treatmentsâ€. That is not to say you can not find customers from all three, but you need to know your demographics and gear you marketing effort in that direction. Placing your prospect on the right landing page is vital as well.
They both work well, but if your looking for quality traffic in any significant volume, Adwords is the only game in town.
if you are facing proble with higher CPC then overture will bring you visitors even its minimum CPC $.10.
I've always recommended combining Yahoo (Overture in UK) and Adwords pay per click programmes into a single campaign. Yahoo provides the better pre-campaign planning tools. Adwords the best post campaign analysis. Yahoo allows you to zero in on key competitors and analyse their bidding strategy. Adwords allows you to run multiple copy. The key question is therefore not either or. Its how best to create synergies from combining both.
Here's my two cents: I've used both Adwords & Overture since January. I receive more traffic from Google, but I average higher conversion with Overture. I think there are so many variables, many dependent on your site and target customer, that it isn't accurate to compare the two in general terms. I'm an online retailer selling women's shapewear. My target is a women looking for an undergarment that will make her look thinner and feel more confident. So, If I don't use the right keywords that these women are typing into any SE, and if I can't lead them to what they're look for within seconds of them hitting my landing page from Google or Overture, I would think that Adwords and Overture were both a waste of money. From my experience, both deliver traffic. I happen to "like" Adwords a little more because your campaigns go live instantley, while Overture often makes you wait a day or two until they review your ads. David
Exactly... Google viewers are typically more tech savvy than the viewers of, say, MSN and Yahoo. Personally though, I've found that if I'm not making a return on investment via Adwords, I don't with Overture/Yahoo Plus the fact that you have to wait days to even test an ad with Overture, it can get very frustrating. I would spend more time on Adwords and try your darndest to earn some profit via them. Caputure name and emails and follow-up with the visitor. Over a long period of time you'll gain trust and will eventually make the sale. Brad
From my experience across a number of campaigns, Overture tends to cost less per click than Adwords. This lowers the "I" in ROI.
Wonder if Yahoo provide Geo Targetting like the country or regional settings offer by AdWords campaign?
Dont mixup things. Getting clicks at google adwords is one thing and converting them successfully to your clients is another thing. Not all visitors coming at your site can be converted to your buyers. If u r getting enough hits through google adwords campaign, and not being able to materilaze them to be your client then u need to change your site, its content, layout, services, costing, benefits and USP.
Adwords generates more traffic per term. Its more flexible when it comes to singular and plural terms and testing copy. However, Overture is better for planning. And Overture allows more adtext.
