adwords voucher, worth it? still requires credit card

I received a $50 adwords voucher the other day, and went to use it, but google still requires a credit card on file... I'm always weary when sites ask that... Has anyone else done this? Is there a way to make sure they don't charge the card, or a way to get around having to add a card to my account?

    Thanks

Don't worry, google only want to be sure, that you can able to post-pay for advertising when you exceed $50 from voucher. You only must to stop advertising before you exceed that amount if you do not plan to spend your own money....

Thanks for the info... I'm going to risk putting my credit card info on file, but if I wind up getting "identity theft-ed" I'm going to be mad...

First of all, it's Google - I'd imagine that they have some pretty good security. Secondly, how can you get your identity stolen if you only have your credit card (but not social security number) stolen?

Remember, most credit card companies have a $0 liability policy for fraud anyway...

The adword (and other vouchers -Live, Yahoo) are great. Nothing like free advertising. You have to watch your account and when the voucher runs out you should cancel the account or you will end up getting charged for future advertising campaigns.
