Rather than searching for numerous hours for this answer I figured I would go directly to the source... the DP experts. :)

I want to launch an AdWords campaign and need to know what to pay for. If I want my site to show up under the type in "Pizza" (just an example), how do I know what to bid for that term? Is there a tool that shows me what the highest bid is for that? If I want to make sure I am on the first page with my ad, I need to know what to pay without going overboard.

well i look at it like this, if the keyword has only one page of advertisers, in other words if the page doesnt have the "More Sponsored Links »" link then bid will generally be under $0.40

If there is more then 5 pages bid will probably be over $1.20

Of course this is very much so niche dependent.

So What I would suggest is you make the campagin and start bidding up from $0.20. To get your self in the prime position you want.

You should check out Brad Callen's 'Keyword Elite'.

Just use googles free keyword tool, it will give you all that info or estimates of what you need.
