Adwords to direct traffic to your site that has Adsense

    Hey Everyone!

Is ok if I have a Google Adwords account and use my ads to forward my traffic to my site that had Google Adsense on it? Is that against the Adsense policy at all?

    Thanks in advance.

No its not against Adsense TOS. There are many who promote their site thru adwords and its like an investment which u can double or triple it only when u have a good website with good unique content.
Its not jus about pushing traffic to ur site but also about bringin them back to ur site again and again this will only happen when the user likes ur site and its content.

    Thanks for the insight Bhuvasona.

I actually started doing this recently just to see what kind of traffic I could get. So far it's been working out.

Yes you can. It's used very often. It's especially great if the keywords your bidding on cost less than the keywords the advertisers are bidding on that are advertising on your site. So your promoting your site and profiting with arbitrage. ;)

That strategy with Adwords and Adsense sounds a little difficult to do. After all, not everyone who clicks on your ads will also click on your Adsense ads as well. I still don't see how you can make more with Adsense than what you spend with Adwords.

I agree it is very tricky. The only reason why I am trying it right now is because I want more traffic to my page so I get more exposure and because I got a $100 in free Adwords money to play with. Once that money runs out I will probably stop the technique and go back to my old methods of driving traffic to my blog.

i was doing the same thing a few years ago, when my adsense earnings was $15,000 google just decided not to pay me. So be aware that they can close any of your accounts at ANY time.

I've already stopped the technique. I just wanted to try it out for a bit because I got a few free credits from Adwords. I was curious. I like to do a bit of a case study on things to see how different things work.

Thanks for the heads up though. I will keep that in mind. I would definitely not be happy if my earnings were up to $15,000 and I didn't get paid

Well, would you take $50 from me if I promise to take $100 from you in exchange? You wouldn't, no reason why Google should do so.

    @Scripter
You are a little confused about how arbitrage works from google's viewpoint. Yes the person conducting the arbitrage pays google the $50 for the ads. Yes, hypothetically he receives $100 from google. The reason why google is not very concerned is because they are not the one who pays back $100, it is the other advertisers. Do you think that google is the one paying for all the clicks on ads for content from organic traffic?

When I did it I did not make more money off Adsense then I spent on Adwords. However I got a bonus amount of $100 from Adwords so for me it was worth my while to test it out to see how it works. All I did was put $20 into the Adwords account and got $120 back. I did make some money in Adsense but I always make some so I didn't get a big increase. However I am sure if you do it right you can make more with Adsense then you spend in Adwords.

Very unlikely - they will keep raising your costs to ensure that you can't. You said yourself, you didn't make more from adsense than you were spending - you only didn't lose money because you were using up an introductory voucher - once you start paying for the ads from your own money, you start losing money.
Five or so years ago you could make money from arbitrage, nowadays Google policy is to price you out of doing it.

Google adwords can be very costly... Why would you not just use adcenter or yahoo search marketing, you would need cheap traffic with a high ctr to make money..

Thats true. You could always try a different source of traffic that you pay for and direct it to your site with Adsense. That might work.

Yeah I guess your right. That is why I only tested it for a short period of time and then stopped it.
