I'm currently in the same boat. I did email them and the ad was then approved, added new ones and "under review". I must say, and i choose my words wisely as to not upset the google gods, but this makes for pretty bad customer service. I mean we give them money to advertise, in some instances a short advertising campaign to promote a sale and we're not able to rely on ads being displayed in time. I'm new to adwords, perhaps this is the reason behind the painfuly long waits. I hope so. I waited about 3 weeks before emailing them.

yeah - google is getting more and more anal about quality so all new accounts are reviewed - all new campaigns on new accounts are reviewed, etc..

I am just wondering if there's a difference in the Google's eyes (and it definitely has ones!) between service businesses and made-for-profit businesses (large and small). It seems like service businesses (anything that helps people get something without buying anything) are not slapped yet as hard. However the moment you put something on your website that says: "3-day sale, buy it today!" or "Download my e-book. It's just $20!" Bam! Your quality score goes down the drain.

Am I onto something here, or do you think what I am saying has no relevance?

I think it has no revelance. I mean, its possible, but the majority of paying advertisers are most likely selling a product of one form or another. I've had a few adds that have scored 10/10 on relevance and those ads were designed to sell. I called their support the other night and was told that 2-3 days is about average at this time. If its taking longer, call them.

It should not be like that, and with me it only took a couple of hours.

As an update, my new Ad was finally approved.

My intial comment that Adwords Sucks, is now defunct: i think it's AWESOME !!

Still confused why it took so long. I followed the guidelines and can only assume it's because my account is new.

I heard the same problem of not getting approved . I think waiting list of google is huge. Even though i get paid less. every day i earn even 0.01$ for a click. Not just one atleast 5 to 10 like this.

When ever I had a problem I just call them their staff is beyond friendly and walks you through everything and answers every question. From what I have experienced the que times for ads to be reviewed is very high and depending on what category IE: adult content gets forwarded to a human review person but give them a ring they offer alot of help over the phone.

you can use cloaking soft to shorten your aff link to *.html
upload this file to your domain root
then target your url in adwords to this file

    ex : hxtp://domain.com/sample.html

I've waited a month, got so sick of waiting I just deleted the campaign. Most times though they are live in a few minutes.

Most times it's a matter of minutes. But many times the account can be under review, The best thing you can do is to keep nagging them until you get a proper answer
