I have set up a conversion tracking for purchase of a software that I sell. The tracking code is on the last page of the order process. The customer goes there once he has either paid via CC, or requested paying via wire transfer. I have no sales of this software for the last three days, but Adwords shows total of 3 conversions for the last two days. How can this happen? Please note that I have resumed my ads a few days ago, they were disabled for a very long period of time. In addition, my customers very rarely pay via wire transfer, so I doubt that these 3 conversions are because of a wire transfer...
Depends on where you setup the conversion code... If you code on the page is executed before the transaction is completed.. then it is a likely chance people have reached last page and exited before paying...
ok,, a rare case - one that i learnt the hard way... i apologise if u know this already,, but this is such a simple goof up and yet i have seen so many people do it (including yours truly)... i used paypal.. and never used to encrypt it.. the problem is that that ways the download page is easily accessible to someone who wants to 'steal' ur script.. ppl can download it from ur download page (thus ur adwords script will run and show a conversion), whereas the payment part in between would be totally bipassed... again , if u already knew this, then ignore this post..
