Now that I can agree with - adwords use can also improve your organic traffic through people searching specifically for you after viewing your site in an ad. Definitely doesn't affect SERPs though.

I'm also with Magda here - your Alexa rank does not affect your SERPS either. It's a fundamentally flawed system that is totally unreliable, easily manipulated, and Google has much better data at its fingertips

Well what do you know. My adwords funds ran out last night and I drop in the SERP's like a hot potato.

Adwords IS related to SERP's. I don't care what you think. ;)

Fair enough, but that doesn't make any difference to the fact that adwords don't affect SERPS - in your case I'd suggest your suffering from the Yo-Yo Effect - go to Webmaster World and in the Google search News section click on the Hot Topics and read up on the Yo-Yo Effect, its causes and how you can solve the problem

This is exactly what ISN'T proof that adwords effects serps.
    Proof would be
In all cases if you are running adwords for a few keywords you can see all are etc etc etc

If you see something sometimes happening with some keywords - that's coincidence.

My gut tells me they are not related. But that could be wrong. I do know that Google is looking at the paid results the same way they do the organic listings. So the way to improve your quality score is by improving the seo on your site. And by doint that you naturally move up in the rankings.
