let's say that i'm selling clickbank ebook about weight loss.. however, my display site maybe more general like modernlifestyle.com, i can't display my merchant website right? because even the real link goes to my affiliate link but there's possiblity, user typing that link manually to address bar (maybe that won't cost me money because they didn't click my ad). but i maybe lost a potential customer. any advice?
I'm not sure I understand what you're trying to do, but your display url has to match your landing page or adwords will pull your ad.
I agree with Magda. And the chances of your user typing the URL manually into their browser are minimal. People click ads to see what you're advertising. I doubt if that person is going to examine your URL. However - Google will. If your display URL is not the same as your destination, they will reject you. That is my experience.
maybe u guys right.. for example : if my display url is modernlifestyle.com, but because it's blog using blogger, i can't upload landing page, so i use free hosting so the url is modernlifestyle.freehosting.com/weight-loss.html. and they reject it.. do u hv advice?
if your display url is modernlifestyle.com the landing page has to be modernlifestyle.com... if you want to use modernlifestyle.freehosting.com/weight-loss.html as landing page then use modernlifestyle.freehosting.com as display url
A tip for anybody wishing to use a keyword in their display URL which I've used for quite sometime - use a 301 redirect to show the homepage, which is accomplished by editing the .htacess file. This means you can have the display as: widgets.com/keyword and the landing page as widgets.com So long as widgets.com/keyword has the .htaccess 301 redirect to show the homepage, Google allow it.
