Within a Campaign I have 4 different Ad Groups.

I was just wondering if one of those groups is doing really poorly will it affect another group in terms of cost ?

If I have one really excellent performing group will the CPC come down or should I look to pause or delete the poor words/adgroup.

Also is it better to delete or pause a word with a low CTR or doesnt it really matter.

Thanks for taking the time to read my dribble.

In my experience it does not really matter. Don't worry about it too much as your CTR also depends on your position.(1-3, 4-8 etc)

But I thought it was a good idea to make your add more relevant by getting rid of shitty keywords so your overall CTR increases.

    Anyone ?

As far as I'm aware, one poorly performing ad group will not affect the CPCs associated with the remaining ad groups within a particular campaign. However, as overall account history apparently does affect your quality score and thus your CPC, you should always work to optimize every ad group. You can do this by deleting poorly performing keywords within the ad group and replacing the keywords with others to see if they do better. Keep your ad group keywords as tightly focused as you can, and write ads which include as many of your keywords as possible. This way, your ad will always be highly relevant to the searcher and you will always receive a high CTR.
