Adwords Question

I currently have a campaign running and I am trying to improve my CTR. It has been improving steadily. I am now trying to improve the quality scores for my keywords by improving my ads and landing pages. My question is this. Should I just edit my current ads, and keywords? Or should I start from scratch? My existing campaign has a CTR of about 3-7%. By editing my ads will that reset my stats? Thanks for everyone's help in advance.

try making the change, if you don't think it is helping, scrap the campaign and start over

Personally if i were you, i'll wait for another fews days to keep track the result. If it does not work , then scrap again by changing your KW and landing page.

don't edit an ad that is already running - you lose all stats on that ad and any accumulated QS. Start a new ad, set your ad serving setting to rotate, measure the success of the ads and then turn off the one that doesn't perform as well. Now, do another ad (a variation on the best performing ad), then chose the best one once you have data. Now repeat, and then repeat again and keep on going.

(Also, make sure your ad groups have highly related keywords - try and split them down as relevantly as you can)

I am with JHardy on this one. But I would also suggest you use Dynamic Keyword Insertion in your ad Headline - I have seen great improvement in the CTR using it.

Just create a new ad and run it against your current best ad. That's the way to split test your ads and improve steadily.

If you want to stop displaying one ad, just pause the existing ad. If you edit an ad what actually happens is, that your former ad gets deleted status and the edited ad is a new one, where it is not necessary to delete the old one.

If you want to make dramatic changes, like a new URL and completely different landing page, only then I would create a new adgroup.
