For about 30 days I have been running AdWords at about .15 a click with 10 key words. I used the key word tool and in 1 minute I had 600 key words. I maxed out my limit in less then 5 minutes and also went 40% over my budget for a day. While I was editing my active key words the price went from .05 - .30 to 1.00 - 5.00 per click. I sent a letter to Google asking what happened. The response was, "We at Google improved are ads and have increased prices" No way will I pay $1.00 to $5.00 a click when I make 1 sale out of 500 clicks. Any feed back on what happened or is this a polite way Google tells you your banded from Google for going over your daily budget.
Am pretty sure this is just a temporary thing as Google reviews the relevance and quality of your keywords and Ads.
i have the same problem, what i did is rasied the price to what they told me,but when they raised to 1,00 and 5,00 i put 0,05!i dont care..if they want my money thats the way it works,or else ill stick out with someone else Claudio
i noticed also that they rasied the limit only on the keywords that had impressions, why not the ones that didnt?
no man...this is crazy!!i have 3 campaigns active but all keywords are set to .05 cents...and for google they are not active becuase i must raise the price!the best thing is that im getting clicks and impressions crazy man
Google knows that their searching audience is becoming more sophisticated and they do not want them figuring the difference between paid search and organic search. If the surfers figure this out, it means a lot less revenue for Google, so they have to force paid search guys to make their sites look like organic search sites so the surfer can't tell the difference. How does this relate to you? Well your site doesn't look like the rest in the organic search side. Fix that and you won't see $5 bids anymore.
