I've been thinking about this and wondering if anyone had any comments? My "client" (he employs me actually) is an industrial manufacturer in quite a specialised field. He was running Adwords long before I arrived and we continued since I took over, only with optimization of the ads and content actually creative content relavant to the ads! Anyway - we currently have a big spend in the mid hundreds per week. The goal is not traffic but enquiries. We've had modest results from Adwords - averaging out at around 5 enquires a day. It's worth bearing in mind that if only one enquiry a week comes good then it pays for the whole weeks ads and then some and we are talking in the high hundreds as the smallest order we would take and in some cases would be in the high hundreds it could be up to £20-£30,000 although we haven't had any of these yet I wonder weather it might be worth while ditching the AdWords and going for advertising on industry specific websites with visitors who are already in our industry. We find it difficult to filter out the buyers from the explorers with Adwords and I personally think we are paying a horrendous amount of money on Adwords. I have a set budget I need to stick to and it is ALL being spent on Adwords. Search Engine Rank is obviously the goal in the long term, where we can replace the need for Adwords with top three rankings with our chosen keywords, but - as I know I don't need to point out, this obviously takes a while and the site has no history of backlinks or submissions etc - it's basically starting from scratch really. Enquiries need to keep coming in whilst I'm working on search engine position and I want the biggest bang for my buck. Adwords or Banners/Buttons & Text both is not an option Will welcome all comments. Thanks
