Just started my first adwords campaign. Actually yesterday. I found great keywords and great affiliate program and I was set. I was checking this keywords for days and no one was there advertising. So I was extremelly excited. Now the weird part. As soon as registered for adwords and my ads started to run in less then 2 hours 3 more ads appeared. How is this possible. Such a coincidence I doubt it. How can someone find out this? Plus I am not ranked first anymore because they put keywords maching in ads. So I changed mine too and now my ads are not even showing. Really frustrating How long it takes for Google to update ads? Maybe I overstuffed my ad with keywords? Why google removed my ad? I did click on other ads just to see what affiliates they run. Maybe that was the reason for removing my ad. Please help thanks thanks thanks...
Were the other ads actively targetting your keyword or were they generic ads like ebay or something? If google removed your ads for keyword stuffing they would tell you. Adwords campagins can take a couple of days to settle down after you start them so I would be patient.
Other ads were targeting keywords of course. It is weird sometimes ads are there and sometimes they are gone :--) Really weird. I added new keyword and they all dissaperied. Also I copied one of my competitors on ads I registered same affiliate. Is this problem? Also do I really have to show actuall visible url in my ads? Can I make up my own? Probably stupid question...
It may be obvious but do ensure that your budget levels are set correctly, and that for every keyword you use you have set the right budget level. I would assume that the other ads are just coincidence, but if they are higher than you they probable have a higher budget set for that keyword. They may of course have a very broad matching phrase, so it is just bad luck thay are showing on the same keyword you are focusing on (i.e if your key word is an exact match on London Bus someone else will get a hit if they just have bus, or london as broad matches). Do not panic, wait to see what results you get. We get excellent results - and I have to keep cutting back the budgets - and we are rarely No 1 on our keywords now. In fact we get better quality hits at No 3-5 than we do at 1 or 2! Volume is not everything in this game.
Don't understand setting the budget thing. I set the budget for whole group and all keywords in group 5 dollars a day. Is that too little. My ads are not showing right now I am guessing I have to wait a little bit. What is the average waiting period for ads to show? What is the structure you use when setting up campaings/groups/keywords Thanks guys a lot
I know my questions are stupid and that is probably why no one is answering, but I like to think of my self as not as stupid as my questions are. I did manage to run everything smootly and then suddenly I got cut off. I did changed my keywords and ads structure but it should be fine. What is the daily budget for group of keywords to make sure you ads will run instantly? thanks
There's no such thing as a stupid question, only stupid answers When you make changes to ads you'll be back in the approval que. See Delays When Creating and Editing AdWords Ads. There's no magic number that will make your ads run right away. If your AdWords account is new, expect some delays in your ads running. I put something together a few weeks back that talks about delays with new AdWords accounts. You'll also want to swing by the AdWords Learning Center - tons of great info there.
5 dollars does not sound a lot, what price are you paying per click on each word? If 5 c then firstly anyone bidding 6c will get above you, secondly you will stop showing ads after 100 clicks (if they all pay 5c) - If 1 dollar then they stop after 5 clicks! My clicks average 35p each, but vary in cost from £2.00 to £0.10.
Thanks guys. Well I started with adwords mostly because of fun. I was playing around and I found keyword that has around 5000 searches a day according to overture and wordtracker. I looked at Google and there was no ads showing so I was ok how about starting adwords campaign. Since it was sweet looking keyword I was optimistic it would be money maker. I found affiliate for 25% of sales and I was set. Currently there is only one ad showing and it is not mine. O yeah cpc is $0.04... Is this good deal? What you guys consider of a great find. I think word itself has excellent selling ooportunity since there is no free substitute for it. Affiliate is great money maker too and only problem is that damn ads wont show :--) Am I tripping or is this good deal. You think 5000 searches is not as good as I think? What number you find the money maker and what keywords category you found that sells the best: software, sex, movies, book etc Muchos thankious
There are several common reasons you may be unable to see your ad. Here are several possible approaches to the situation: 1.Check back later. Although in most cases your ad is up and running almost immediately after activating your account, sometimes there is a server upload delay and it takes more than a few minutes for your ads to start running. 2.Check your daily budget. When you create your ads and select your keywords or target sites, we recommend a daily budget for maximum ad delivery on Google. If your daily budget is set lower than the recommended amount, we spread the delivery of your ad throughout the day in order to stay within your budget. To maximize your visibility, meet the recommended amount. 3.Check the approval status of your ad. If an ad doesn't meet our Editorial Guidelines, we'll stop your ad from running, and you'll see the word 'Disapproved' listed below that ad. Once you've made the appropriate edits, simply save your changes and your ad will be automatically resubmitted to us for review. 4.Check the performance of your keywords. If you're running a keyword-targeted campaign and a keyword underperforms, it may be moved into an inactive state and stop showing ads on the search network. Your ads may also only be showing on certain variations of your broad or phrase matches due to a low Quality Score. The best way to monitor your keyword performance is by reviewing the keyword status column on your Ad Group Details page 5.Check your site targeting. If you're running a site-targeted campaign, your ad will appear only on the websites you specify. Those websites must be part of the Google Network. Make sure you're looking for your ad on one of the sites you selected. It's also possible that your ad simply isn't showing at the moment you view the page. 6.Check your maximum CPM. If you're running a site-targeted campaign and your ad is not showing, your maximum cost per thousand impressions (max CPM) may be too low to win the position on that site. Other advertisers may also have targeted that site, and they may have offered higher CPMs or be more relevant to that space. Check the campaign summary page in your account for details on how often your ad is showing. If your ad is not showing often enough to fulfill your daily budget, you may wish to try raising your max CPM for selected sites or campaigns. Or, try expanding your list of targeted sites to include more possible places for your ad to run. 7.Check formats. The format(s) of the ads you're running must match those provided by each website. If you're running image ads and have uploaded 160x600 wide skyscraper ads, make sure the site runs ads in that format. 8.Check your geo-targeting. You can target your campaign to specific countries, regions, and languages. If you don't target your own area and language, you won't be able to see your ad. If you're targeting a region or city, sometimes we're unable to obtain internet protocol (IP) information. If we can't determine the searcher's location, we'll show nationally targeted ads instead of regionally targeted ads. Please note that some sites in our network may restrict advertising or keywords based on their own policies regarding content and editorial standards. In this case your ad may not appear even though you have targeted the site or have chosen keywords which seem to match it
Thanks samroy most of that I figured out on my own still thanks I limmited my campaign only on google search since I thought that only if someone actually searches for my word will actually make sales since word is very delicate. Was that smart or extremely stupid? Also my ads are showing very rare and almost never on some high keywords. What you do? Do you setup more groups if you have around 10 keywords on certain ad. Is that reason my ads are not showing? I increased daily budget to 20 dollars. Is that enough? I want to learn more about adwords that is not located on google. I want some nice explanation on how to setup groups and how many groups and the whole structure of adwords inside tips. Am I asking too much :--) or maybe I am just pissed this other guy with one ad is showing and I am not... Maybe I just need to be more patient?
I have "caught" one company cheating. That's 2checkout.com. Google confirmed it. 2checkout were reporting ad showing while they didn't even bother to post anyone's (not just mine) ads on their site. Unbelievable isn't it? So since then I was trying to see at least a single ad of mine. I let my daily budget and CPM go sky high for a day or two. Guess what I never saw one. I saw ads of others, but not mine. I wonder what's happening?
