I have keyword I am using and when I do search I don't get listed as often as others using that keyword. I have the max cpc set above the first page result but not getting listed that often.

What can I do to increase this?

sometimes it takes time for your ad to show for competitive keyword if your quality score isn't as good as competitors

You are probably not showing for all searches on your keywords. A big reason would be a budget that is too low. If there are 1000 searches and your CTR is 5% at a cost of $1 (50 clicks, $50) but set your budget at $10, you'll only show your ads about 1/5 of the time. At the campaign level, there's a column you can show called Impression Share that will shed some light on this.
