Hey all, My first post, so just as a little background - i have just taken the jump into SEO and am finding it a fun, but steep learning curve. I have currently started a new job with a web design company and am working as a trainee, focusing on mainly web marketing and some copywriting. I wanted you opinion on my first Adtext, that has been running for 3 days and has 150 or so clicks (we have a £50 a day budget.) The company is a kitchen company that sell fitting and kitchen units, also Marble worktops etc.. I have split the keywords into two groups, one being more broader search terms like "kitchen design" and others more location based ie: "kitchens nottingham" This one is for the more location focused customer. Free Kitchen Designs 100% Free Quote - No obligation. Midlands Based. Bespoke Designs www.websiteaddress.co.uk This one is alot broader, but highlights one of the special offers on at the moment: Kitchen Design Experts 50% off all Granite Worktops Free Quote Today! No Obligation www.websiteaddress.co.uk If you have any suggestions or comments on these two ad texts i would greatly appreciate it! Obviously getting more goal conversions is the ultimate aim - and i have had 2 quotes filled out over the weekend, so is going well at the moment! Thanks in advance, Scott
looks ok but generally people stay away from the word free as it doesn't really convert but I guess if its just a quote its ok.
Looks good. Keep on testing new copies, it's the only way you'll find out if you've done well or not. Some tips: Try creating seperate geo targeted campaigns for some of the major cities in the area and include the city name in the advert. For things like kitchen design, being local is an important selling point, we have experienced boosted CTR's using this method. In the adverts put full stops at the end "Bespoke Designs" and "50% off all Granite Worktops" and "No Obligation" This has improved CTR where the advert appears in slot 1 frequently because the advert is normally stretched out into one line and catches the eyes attention better if formatted with periods. Good luck with your new job by the way, if I have any advice it's to make sure you be very honest with your employers, don't hype up your own abilities and when you give an answer to a question; answer it as solidly as possible, if your answer includes an assumption or speculation make sure you say so, don't make it look like fact. Keep to honesty and you should do fine.
Looks good but just remember SEO and PPC and 2 completely different beasts and best practices do not apply to each. Such as H1, alt tags, inbound/outbound linking and keyword density... The agency world is cut throat and its widely accepted that you cant be an expert in SEO and PPC at the same time. If you do both, then its assumed you can only do both half fast... So pick your niche and stick to it...
Hello Scott It's a good start but 50 clicks per day for a 50 pound budget may not be good news. Things can be a lot better. Also 2 qualified leads from 150 visitors can also be improved. The text ads seem to be ok but you might want to look at your landing pages. They must be optimized in order to convert to convert well. You can also look at the exact keywords that the visitors are using to land on your url. You might want to have a negative keyword list to avoid keywords unrelated to your work. This can increase your ctr and thus keep the cpc low. You have not mentioned your average cpc and ctr. Beware, your cost per click can shoot up drastically if your ctr is low. You need to keep an eye on your cpc and ctr to take action before cpc spirals off.
