I manage a small number of Adwords accounts for clients using my client center. Previously I have always asked the client to enter their credit card details for payment or give the number to me to enter. But recently I've been thinking I should just put all my client's account through my business credit card and then invoice my clients. What do you do? What do you think about this? Would this be a breech of any Adwords TOS?
Depends on your relationship w/ client (and total budget per client). If you are managing in excess of $50k+ in monthly ad spend budgets, having clients pre-pay can be a little boost in interest income over time. Although it never feels that good to write $xx,xxx figure checks to Google - much better the other way! Most of the time on smaller accounts we just have the client put their own CC into their actual AW account. In case there were EVER any issues w/ Primary/Secondary payment methods, it would be out of your hands to deal with. Subsequently, using your company card can have several other advantages for using Rewards (credit card freq flyer, bonus, points, etc). The risk is getting put on the hook for late paying clients (if you use your card in arrears). Just have clients pre-pay for the monthly budget, throw it into an escrow/holding account and run it. Pardon the ramble... Minimal sleep.
Unfortunately I'm not in the 50k range just yet. Hope to get there one day! The main reason I was thinking of using my own card was exactly for the frequent flyers A few thousand extra flyer miles a month sounds like a great way to have a free holiday on my clients
I say go for it! Nothing better than pass thru transactions as they make the banks really, really like you... And you get great perks on reward points (airfare, travel, etc)
