Adwords Maximum Bid problem. Help Please

I started a campaign for a particular set of keyword targetting US. For that particular keyword adwords ad preview tool showed me only one advertiser and still now i have checked many times, it is showing only one advertiser.

After i set the campaign. It said that the particular keyword is inactive for search as it has a minumum bid of $0.75. I have set a maximum bid of $0.5. Still i checked for that particular keyword and only one advertiser.

Why cant adwords system show my ad for a $0.5 per click, in second position. Why is it asking to set my Maximum CPC to be $0.75..... Its too hurting for me. Help needed.....

If AdWords is asking for 0.75 then you will have to set it at 0.75 once you get some clicks or once Google checks your page for quality the min bid may be lowered.

    good luck.

The minimum bids are not calculated only by the number of bidders, but the scoring too, so you have to make sure you have good ads and good landing page

    Good luck

your initial min bid is set by google taking a look at your landing page. If there is only one other advertiser then google has determined you may show up but you must bid 0.75 to get activated.

The reason they are doing that is because they feel your page is not designed well enough to be in that space for a cheap cost. Usually because you are irrelevant or because your landing page messaging is all messed up.

For whatever your keyword is that they want .75/click to start-off change your landing page a little bit. Just include your specified keyword in about 2-3% of your total text body. If you have a landing page with 500 words in the copy, sprinkle your keyword in about 10-15 times, and then try restarting the adgroup so that google will re-evaluate your landing page, and voila! you should have a lower starting CPC for that keyword :) I hope that helps

Google does some strange things with initial bids. I would start it for .75 then lower it and you should be fine. Google has to have a way to estimate initial cpc and it can be quite nnoying. Good luck.

Try to split your keywords down into smaller well organised AdGroups with individual adverts, focus on having keywords within the advert copy whilst ensuring it is still attractive for people to click on, try Perry's technique:

    Header - Keywords
    1st Line - Benefit
    2nd Line - Offer
    Display - Keywords

Although not a fool proof aproach may help you get started
