Adwords lowering search count on purpose?

Anyone notice that adwords almost always WAY undercounts the number of searches for keyword phrases? I did one yesterday and it said I'd get like 10 impressions/day. there were like 500 or something by the end of the day. This happens across terms, every time I create an ad.

I almost get the feeling google underballs search counts to make sure advertisers put the maximum CPC in possible, to try and get those "few visitors"

    Anyone feel the same?

I've had the exact opposite of that, to be honest. I almost always seem to have the traffic evaluation tool show a ton of impressions, a ton of clicks, and I get a lot less than that really.

    Anyone else experienced this?

Are you talking about the traffic estimator tool in Adwords? If so, that lists the number of estimated clicks you'll recieve, not impressions.

It is. There "estimated clicks" calculations are always off - in both directions. I've had it tell me I'll get 12,000 clicks per day and I end up with 2,000. Then other times it tells me I'll get 2,000 and I end up with 12,000:rolleyes:

Wow, I've never seen it off in both directions - only upwards. That's news to me.
