Hi guys, I've been looking for a good keyword, but often when I look at volumes for searches there is such a huge magnitude of difference between the adwords search volume and the search-based keyword tool. The search-based keyword tool seems to be almost 1/10 of the adwords data. Can someone please explain what is going on? Do they measure different data? Help!!
I would use the adwords data. It's from google. What you call search based keyword tool is probably compiled from different sources and probably a little outdated.
The AdWords data is actually in some cases higher and over the standard searches performed per unique IP addresses of the searchers but still can show os the estimates about the popularity of the terms.
The SBK tool suggests keywords based on whatever website you've inputted as a case study. It shows other keywords people have used to look for a site similar to it.
