AdWords just suspended my account, I've been with them for 4 years.

99% of my income is generated from AdWords/Affiliate Marketing and now I am screwed.

Any ideas of what to do?

Where else can I get real traffic, I've tried Yahoo and Microsoft they are terrible :(

Sorry to hear that. I do not have any real suggestions for you, what I would like to know is why it happened. I think it will be a learning experience for all of us if you share the details on why they suspended it.

Also, did you try to appeal your suspension? I hear it works in some cases.

    Thank you.

Why can't you just try to get reinstated with Adwords. I had my account suspended and it was for a big reason as well (private) contacted them waited 8 days and it was resolved within 15 days.

Start up an LLC or company entity and sign up to Adwords again under the company name. I haven't done this myself but, people say it works.

The reason they gave me was that I submitted many ads that were disapproved because of copyright reasons, and they had to suspend my account.

Jab, was your reason as bad as mine?

and how did you reinstate it?

Typical of Google. The only way you can find out if a word is copyrighted is to make an ad, and see if it gets disapproved. While most advertisers have no need for copyrighted keywords, and some advertisers are all about gaming the system, many are in a grey area where there business sells brand-name products, some of which they can promote on Adwords and some they cannot.

Tell them you have changed your way of doing business so that you will no longer be submitting ads that can be disapproved because of copyright reasons, and then make sure you don't.

You're allowed to bid on trademarked words (depending on your location), but not allowed to include trademarked text in your ads - at which point your ads become disapproved.

Do you mean trademarked or copyrighted? There's a world of difference.

If you have been using copyrighted text it probably means you've been using copyrighted text on your landing pages (don't see how one sentence could be copyrighted and that's all you can fit in ads) - in which case Google is correct to do this as you should write your own copy and not rip off someone else's

It's not the end of the world, there's plenty of other ppc engines out there that are easier to use and more profitable. People seem to be in love with Adwords though. It's like hot chicks who will only date guys that are assholes to them.

    :)

AdBrite instead of Google AdSense / AdWords

I’ve had a chance to spend some time with AdBrite and I’m impressed with the opportunity to get jobs done for marketers and publishers.Coincidentally, they are set up in the booth next to ours at SES so I’m sure I’ll get a chance to chat with them during the conference and may follow up with some thoughts, for now, give AdBrite a try:

    1. Easy City/State local targeting enabling national advertisers to target ads locally and local advertisers to reach relevant customers.

    2. Simple action/conversion tags allowing you to measure effectiveness end-to-end and optimize performance for a specific ad or placement.

    3. CPC based Text ads, CPM banner ads, and Interstitials to get you right in front of the audience while mitigating risk by paying for traffic or reach.

    4. Category, Demographic, and Keyword targeting.

The long and short of AdBrite for advertisers is that it is easy to use, supports targeting, and drives efficient marketing through turnkey tracking and optimization.

This thread is alarming to me -- and I'm not sure I'm really understanding what happened in CELLUTION'S case. I am promoting many Clickbank products with Adwords and on all of them, I'm bidding on the name of the book for my keyword and that keyword is also in my ad text. Is this what you're referring to as a copyright violation? I've had my Adwords account for almost two years and I've never had an ad disapproved for that reason.

"play by there rules or your business is destroyed"- well, yeah, of course, it is their search engine and they don't force anyone to use it.

Google's basically trying to weed out affiliate advertisers at the moment (not a bad thing really if you look at it form a user perspective - which is always going to be more important to Google)

You could always try Yahoo Search Marketing - maybe experiment with SEO.
