I am using adwords for awhile now to promote my electronics but it's getting too expensive for my budget. I am actually losing money after all the money ive spent on Adwords. Are there any similar sites out there that i can use who can provide good quality traffic but dont charge as much as Adwords? Thanks.
Yahoo - advertising.yahoo.com/smallbusiness and MSN/Bing - adcenter.microsoft.com are the obvious alternatives. Both have significantly less traffic than Google, but I have found that both generally convert higher (In my experience) Using Adwords Editor you can easily convert an Adwords account for upload to Yahoo which makes life pretty easy. If you don't mind me asking, have you been optimising the Google campaign, using negatives and generally trying to improve the quality of traffic in an attempt to reach a CPA target?
if your selling electronics, you might want to look at the shopping comparison engine space, if you havent already. CSE's have excellent reach, and target consumers who are further along the AIDA sales cycle. In particular, Pricegrabber.com is excellent for electronic products. They index very high for those types of early adopter/techy users.
MSN/Bing - adcenter.microsoft.com traffic is totally getting more and more traffic. Also, have you tried lowering your per click? Less traffic per day, but most likely more than bing. Yahoo has a nice start up program with $75 credit: sem.smallbusiness.yahoo.com/myoffer
Yahoo & MSN are good but conversion rate is not that great. You can also look at the second tier search engines.
As someone mentioned earlier, comparison sites can work well, but, I don't think they'll provide better results than Adwords. Electronics is a competitive area, so you have to be prepared to pay to get those clicks, of course, as long as you're not losing out overall. But, have you set up Google Base (it's free), that can generate a decent amount of impressions/clicks, especially if you optimise it. But back to Adwords, if you're worried about cost, then perhaps yahoo/bing will offer better results, as there is less competition, but also very little volume (depending on country). Stick with Adwords, work on your ad copy, and landing page, get your qs up, and gradually your cpc will decrease, but your position will stay the same, or even increase.
I worked for a company where setting up Google Base was standard procedure for new clients, it's definately worth doing!
Yeah, it's also very easy to set up and maintain. Not great at giving detailed statistics though...but it's getting better..slowly
