The case is interesting , if you can send a link to your site ...maybe i could suggest something...you can PM me with the link .
robertpriolo was kind enough to evaluate my site. He made some valuable and appreciated suggestions, which I implemented. We'll have to wait to see what happens.
While I was waiting for the bot to come by and see if my corrections were effective, I got another email from Google support. This time they said they don't have my billing information which is why my campaigns are not running. I wonder how they managed to charge me $3,000.00 over the last 4 months. In fact, there are 3 campaigns that ARE running. Google support is a complete joke. This is actually getting to be amusing. Google support is so bad... So far I have had 6 differents answers to the problem from 4 different people, none of which address the problem.
My experience has generally been that if a keyword jumps from below a dollar per click to around $10 per click or higher, there is hope to get those keywords back on with a cost similar to before they were turned off. Bear I mind, this takes some time so start with the keywords that were performing the best. Firstly, copy the inactive keyword, then delete it from the campaign. Next, create a new AdGroup with that one keyword, with a new ad (sometime a new landing page, although not always needed). On most occasions, I have been able to activate the keyword at a similar bid price as before, Or sometimes a little higher (certainly nowhere near the ridiculous $10 that Google suggests! It' s much more of a challenge when a keyword is made inactive for say a bid of 20 cents, with a new AdWords suggested bid of say 40 cents. This method does not work as well for these situations, but still can sometimes. There are several other google slap strategies that can help as well. Someone mentioned how hopeless google support is! I agree. When you ask for help for a goggle slap type issue, you get a bunch of information copy and pasted into an email and sent to you that says a lot but doesn't mean much if you know what I mean? The support staff are only given limited information themselves as to the workings of Google AdWords. Anthony B.
This interesting thing here is that it's all about the landing pages on a single website. There are 30-40 of them. Everything that points to that website went to $10.00. I deleted all the keywords, but if I try to add any, they go straight to $10.00, even if they're with a new ad group, or different campaign. I can run the same landing page in a different website and it works just fine.
i dont think he is that dumb you all. Why would he send his link to his website to you all for you to copy his niche Nice try
I have a similar issue with bids going from 0.13 to $5.00 in the last few weeks. I have tried the copy/past ad in new campaign trick, making sure to group all slapped keywords together in a 'slapped' campaign but even the new campaign instantly goes to $5.00. I even tried opening a seperate AdWords account, using the same keywords and landing page, and whilst it opened at .40, after about 3 minutes it went up to $5.00. This is my message. As Google states, it clearly doesn't like my landing page, yet the page has quite a lot of original content (a full page's worth) based on the actual keyword itself, and overall is quite an 'on-topic' page. It gives users a 'how to' step by step guide on how to what they are searching for (for example, 'sell old XXXX'. It gives them help and advice on how to sell these items and where to sell them and also makes the user aware of other measures that should be taken prior to actuall selling the item. Overall, it is quite a helpful page. However, and this is perhaps where I think my slap may be coming from, the page has affiliate links to eBay signup page on it (2 links, 1 text, 1 image), and is based on a very heavily modified BANS page. You wouldn't even know it was a BANS (www.build a nichestore. com) script really and it certainly doesn't look like a MFA or spammy site. The other reason I'm thinking is that if its down to the 'relevancy' of a page, perhaps I need to start building internal links to the page (my site is based on the overall theme of the page), using the same anchor text as my AdWords keywords? I have now made sure that everything in my AdWords campaign is as it should be and as relevant as possible. I am also trying to show a good track record of high CTR by increasing the CPC to $5.00 but setting a daily limit of $5.00. This may be a really bad idea, but it is serving to increase my CTR from less than .7% to 3-5%. It is my intention now to run this for a week or so, whilst ever-continuing to try and increase the relevancy of my landing page, in order to remove this slap. Any better advice would be much appreciated ;-)
if you can do it and if it's that important, copy your campaign over to a brand new domain and restart. as you saw when you tried to run the campaign on a diff domain adwords did allow for the old bids to work. in the meantime you can work on fixing your original campaign. this mostly applies if you have a simple affiliate site as the original.
At least I am not alone. I was using about 100 keywords between 4-5 cents. Then they all jumped to between $5-$10 to re-activate. Many of them have between 0-2 sponsor ads, so I just gave up on the campaign. My click through ratio was not that bad, and I am never going to pay $5 for 1 click. I will stick with Yahoo and a few smaller ppc companies for now, at least until Google fixes the problem.
My feeling about this is that Google is not going to fix the problem. You and I have done something on our sites that Google doesn't like, and we got slapped down for it. My approach is to use MS and Yahoo to advertise that site. In the meantime I have removed all the keywords, and I've fixed some broken links and other things that may have caused this problem. A work in progress.
