I've heard many people, including Google, say that the Adwords program has no factor at all with your ranking in the Google SERPS. However, I noticed that just by using Adwords, if I do a search for my URL in google by typing in the allinurl: command, it brings up pages that just had my website listing in the Adwords banner on that page. Don't all these additional cached links of your URL in Google account for something as far as increasing your rank in the SERPS?
Links are JS redirections, it has no impact on your serps otherwise adwords buyers would all rank top, thereby not needing to buy adwords!
The google tool bar is probably recording the visits generated to your site and upping your rating via this reason. If you got 1000 backlinks from obscure places and no traffic from them then should you be rated higher or lower then a site or page with fewer backlinks but more traffic? I guess only google would know for sure. I am not experienced enough with this kind of thing to say, just wonder. ###
I've noticed this happening too. When I run the link command, most of the results are from pages that displayed my Adword at one point in time.
I've been using AdWords for a long time and have not noticed any difference in serp results compared to sites where I do not us AdWords.
Yeah, if anything, Adwords advertisers are probably penalized in order to create more rev. for Google.
Once I signed up for an adwords campaign, I had 50 more pages from my online store in Googles index. Could be a coincidence, you never know!
Google apparently does not record adwords ads as links. But if you search for pages containing your domain name, you'll find that many of them are pages that displayed your ad while being crawled by Googlebot.
It can help, but indirectly. Let's say that your site is about widgets, very competitve keywords - to start optimising it, you'll need good inbound links - advertising for your site through adwords or other pay per click websites may drive sites owners who may be likely to link to your site if they enjoy your content. So yes, using Adwords can help your SERPs.
