why when i have a good keyword at 300 clicks 17k impressions and like 1%-2% CTR does adwords automatically increase the dam bid to 0.20 cent from 0.03 cent. its happend with all my keywords and im sure its not competitors doing this but adwords. really pissing me of now
Its likely due to your quality score. Check the keyword analysis tool and see if it is either OK or POOR. I would look at your adverts and make sure that they at least have the keyword in it (especially in the title). Lastly, check the landing page and make sure the keyword shows up somewhere on there. If the basics don't improve in a couple days, try opting out of the content network; you might be getting a lot of traffic that is bouncing quickly, which Google will interpret as your site is irrelevant. This wont affect your QS, but is nevertheless improtant that users view your site as relevant to their search.
When the CTR is low, Adwords increases the minimum bid for keywords. If the CTR is low, that is because poor keywords and ads. Everything is connected, so if something goes wrong, you have to correct lots of things.
I have about 20 different ad variations the keyword is in the title and in some of the text body and its in the url and the landing page is ok theres no competition besdies me, so to rectify this i need to bid 0.20 why ? its because ive had little clicks for the huge amount of impressions which i cant change my ads are fairly decent, how can i stop them upping the bid
Improve your CTR and change your ad. variation which will have the power to get clicks. By the way at what position your ads. ranking?
You could try and limit some of your traffic as it seems all the impressions are not relevant. Changing your keyword matching to a phrase or exact match can help this. Negative keywords will also help in the search network. Opting out of the content network will help keep the numbers a little more managable while you are doing this as well. From here work on your adverts and maybe change the landing page up a little bit by freshening up the content. A little bit here and there will usually go a long way.
You've got to get that quality score up! Which can be a hassle without automation software. You need to link lots of relevant article directories to your landing pages.
its at 0.20, should i just delte the keyword then add it in a few weeks, will the bid lower? as i cant bid 0.20 its too mutch!!!!!!!!!!!!
Are all the keywords having high CPC? If these are only few keywords then you can pause them accordingly and try to cover your traffic by inserting new set of related keywords. But, in this you will have to wait for a while to make QS.
it will be because of your quality score. create a range of ads and keep the best one (ie with the highest ctr). test, test, test my friend.
If you're the only PPC advert, and your clickthrough rate is less than 2%, this will explain why you have a disappointing clickthrough rate. Either: 1. You aren't offering what the searcher is searching for 2. You are offering what the searcher is searching for, but you don't make it clear 3. You are offering what the searcher is searching for, but you don't look reliable 4. They just aren't noticing your advert (unlikely, if yours is the only PPC advert). My guess would be that the majority of people aren't looking for what you are selling/offering. In this case, Google is bound to penalise you, since they want relevant adverts. Are your keywords too generic or vague. Bidding on "Books" if you only sell text books for students will give you a low CTR and a poor QS. So you'd bid on "text books" instead...
yeh ive more or less solved it now, just increase my bid to 0.25 with a better text ad. this then decreased to 0.5 where i keep a lower daily budget so the ctr is at 6%-7%
