Hi Everyone, Just thought i'd share this very usefull tip with you all. If you want to increase your CTR, buy a different domain name for each of your keywords. Then forwards your new domain name to your hosting company (this save you buying lots of hosting). You can get a 50-60% CTR increase on all, or most of your ads. Enjoy.
Relevance is the key to the whole google thing! If, for example, Someone types in 'quick weight loss'. And your add has quick weight loss in the title, copy and URL Your ad becomes extremely relevant. More people would see your ad, and want to click on YOUR AD. The visitor has the phrase 'quick weight loss' in their head at that exact moment. So you need to provide them with an ad that reflects exactly what is in their head at that moment. Most people do it in the copy and title, but not the URL. YOUR AD EXAMPLE: Quick Weight Loss DR Atkins ultimate guide. How to Get Quick Results With Your Weight Loss Quick-Weight-Loss.com Also, everytime your keywords are shown, they are in bold. So they stand out from the others. Hope this is a bit clearer
Hmm, no way this gives you a 50% increase but thanks anyway. Chances are if your page is about what your looking for its gonna be in the ads anyway.
Some AdWords Guys i know got a 75% increase right across all of their ad-groups, Mine was between 40% and 50%. So, Try it out and see. Let us know if it makes a difference.
I think it is a good tip. Even just using a nice looking url can improve CTR. I tested that across almost half million impressions. I blogged and wrote about it.
You can increase your CTR by 75% if your previous URL was: theives.from.ru or winatadpole.com or dg4tr7.net
Your display URL must match the domain of your landing page. So if you're forwarding Quick-Weight-Loss.com to spires.com, then the display URL can't be Quick-Weight-Loss.com. If you want to use Quick-Weight-Loss.com as your display URL, you have to put your landing page there.
You can take advantage of this without having to buy domain names. eg: Quick Weight Loss DR Atkins ultimate guide. How to Get Quick Results With Your Weight Loss yoursite.com/Quick-Weight-Loss
Thanks to all who contributed -- the idea, the cheap domain info AND the idea that you can just put the keywords in display URL without new domain. I chose the last idea since it only took two minutes to try it out. I have two campaigns that only have one ad, so I just added a new one with the keywords in the display URL. Will let you know.
Very Interesting concept. I will try this with some of my ads. Thank you to all who contributed. I'll post my results.
I use a mod rewrite rule for my major keywords so that the visable urls actually work... so www.shop.com/redshoes actually works... not to hard for 25 brands
Has anyone had experience with the strategy of registering a domain name solely for the purpose of using it as a display URL. One of my competitors already uses the supplier's URL as his display URL, so Google prevents anyone else from using that display URL. I figure that the supplier is going to write a more convincing sales letter than I, so why not register a relevant sounding name, and then not bother with any landing page at all?
adwords doesnt allow redirects! I am suprised spires's that you managed to do this before the editiorial team stops your ads. Could you provide some evidence? Also why not use subdomains with relevant pages? cheers
