Hi everybody. I've been using Adwords for a good while now. I know that what I advertise will sell (1:75 ratio this month), but I'm anxious to take it to the next level if I can. Here's the scenario: I've traditionally kept my daily budgets and CPC low. Generally I'll set my ads to $5 or $10/day with CPC at around 7 cents. This is enough to get about 150-200 visits a day, and I do make a few good sales a day from it. My ads, keywords and negative keywords are all fairly well optimized. As it is, my daily budget isn't always met, so if I want to get more traffic it's not going to be there just by increasing my daily limit. This leads me to my question... What I advertise does sell. Now I want more traffic. Has anybody had experience optimizing the ratio between CPC and the daily budget to get more traffic? I'm thinking of doubling my CPC (to 15 cents) and tripling my daily budget (to $30) to, in theory, increase traffic by 50%. Sounds ok on paper, right? But does this tend to work, or has it been your experience that it doesn't really increase traffic much? If not, what works best for you? Thanks a lot.
the best way to find the perfect ratio is to outright eliminate one of the variables. After I get a baseline I generally set my max daily budget fairly high so that it never limits traffic. if what you are selling works then raise the daily budget to something like $100. then see what that does for traffic before increasing bids. also you may want to look at adding other words in addition to increasing bid prices.
