Ok .. Never used google adwords on any of my sites.
My understanding is that you sign up for a adwords account, google gets the advertisers, you add code to your web site and then based on the theme of your site google supplies the matching ads.

Once the ads are on the site you get paid per click that takes the user away from your site and to the advertisers web site.

Right so far? yes i hope ....

Ok ... how much do you make from each click? i understand that you get a % of the advertisers ppc with google but how much or what % is it?

For example : If i have a motor bike web site with ad words and a visitor clicks on a ad what do i get if it costs the advertiser say $1.00 per click?
    1%? or 50% ???

Do you get any money for the ammount of times the ad is displayed on the site without anyone clicking on it?

The reason why im trying to learn is because i have a idea for a advertising network and the prime people i will need is experienced seo's ... And im trying to work the sums out to see if it can be profitable?

    Thanks inadvance.

First off, you are talking about Adsense. Adwords is the program to join if you want to advertise yourself. You need to check out the adsense forum for your questions.

As far as what each click will make you it depends on what keywords the ads are targeting. There are CPM ads, but I very seldomly get them on my sites. Hope this helps.

    Hi,

Thanks - but when you say depends on keywords how does that work?
Is it not just based on a % of the price ?
    Example:

    Keyword cost = $0.01 to $0.30 = 2%
    Keyword cost = $0.31 to $0.60 = 4%
    and so on ???

Is there anyway i can find out what % is paid on set keywords ?

Oh, how do i move this thread to the add sense forum?
Help before i get ANOTHER warning.

You should really ask this in the adsense forum. Just start a new thread there. I have been told that publishers get 60% of the revenue from the ads. Maybe someone else can confirm this, I am not sure.

The amount you make is a percentage of the amount that the advertiser paid as you say, but Google doesn't release the specifics of what that percentage is. I'm also pretty sure that the percentage changes depending on who you are; preferred sites get a better deal.

Also, you can't specify which keywords your page will show ads for, as it's decided automatically in the background by Google. The best you can do is try and create pages which are rich in the keywords you're targeting and hope for the best.

So, the problem with trying to predict how much you're going to make is that there are too many unknown factors; unknown keyword, unknown keyword bid & unknown percentage paid.

You're really better off just trying it out and seeing.

    Good luck!
