Sorry, I really tried to find a thread related to this but i guess my search abilities are limited.

I am kind of stuck at 9K to 11K page views a day on my site so my adsense earning are leveling off... but i was able to double my click through rate over the past 6 months with better placement...

So now my question is i know adwords brings traffic, but you pay for the traffic... for dating sites i am not sure how much but it costs something.... is it ever profitable to use adwords to bring in adsense revenue or does it usually have a negative effect on over all site income? ..... my site is free so adsense is my only revenue. I am not selling anything.

Dont use it for your normal site... MFA's are basically sites which are built in a style so as to get very high CTR for the site and getting cheap traffic from long trail KWs....

Why don't you try to sell some banners, links, etc. ?
Having AdSense as an only revenue stream is not that great.

And to answer your question it depends on a lot of factors like what's your CTR and average pay/click for your niche. Then check how much will cost you the AdWords traffic and decide what to do. Personally I think AdWords is working better for sites selling products.
