    HI

    Ive been using adwords editor of late to make my Adwords ads. However because i often use the exact product name as my advert title im seeing that 90% of my titles are too long, getting a red cross next to them in Adwords Editor.

    What woyuld happen if i was to upload it like this, would none of the ads work? Failing that is there any software out there where i can enter a list of my titles and it cut off everythign after x no of letters?

    thanks.

    Try to mention your keywords as many times as possible in your ad, so your ad will stand out being bold.

    I'd agree in the main part with bm and gr, though I would add that if the search term WAS the name of a product, then obviously it's not a bad idea to put it in the title.

    I wouldn't agree that repeating the search term is necessarily a good idea - that may get your advert noticed, but you need to convince people to click on your advert rather than one of the others, and if it only says that you sell the product, so what? So does everyone else advertising. A good advert should tell people why they should click on your advert rather than someone else's.

    One more point - DKI can be very effective, but if all of your competitors do the same, your advert's just going to look like everyone else's. Run the search yourself, see whether everyone else's advert uses DKI, and if so, consider writing something else in the title, or prefixing your DKI with another word - e.g. Amazing {KeyWord:Widgets}

    my products titles are my keywords. Lets say i have 100 products on the site im making 100 adwords adverts each with the product name as the title, each showing the price of that product and each taking the user when they click direct to the product in question. Only line 2 of the advertisement is the same for each.

    Using a spreadsheet system i can make all the ads ina matter of minutes however its taking ages to go through the titles and cut them down.

    I looked at DKI but that still doesnt work for two issues - firstly if my keywords are too long for Adwords Editor then they will be too long for Adwords using DKI and secondly i want the price of each product to appear in the advertisement so i need ot make one advert for each product with just one keyword for each advert.

    dburdon - i like your suggestion very much. you know a tool in which i could do this?

    Then there really isn't any alternative to going through them manually, and editing the ones that are too long.

    I don't think that there's much doubt that your approach of putting the product name (which is also the keyword) in the title. What are your competitors doing? I don't normally copy other adverts, but they may give you some ideas how to shorten the product name...

    the Adtitle must be {keyWord:product Name} then you will get Product name in title whenever the keywords are too long
