What are everyones thoughts on the keyword grouping tool in Adwords Editor? Do you think it is pretty intelligent and would you slam 2000 keywords into it and let it divide them into appropriate adgroups initially?

Do it yourself. It's so much easier to do keyword expansion & manage/target your ads if you do it manually (and it's really not that hard to do, as long as you plan well). Google's automated system won't always group things the way you want, and the system may not understand the specific goals of your campaign and the market you are targeting.

i use it somethimes to do the initial grouping and then clean up/adjust manually - for bigger campaigns. on smaller campaigns i just do it by hand.

I prefer having one or two keywords in each adgroup so I don't use the tool. I like to do each one manually, but the AdWords Editor makes that really easy too with copy/paste functionality.

I think it is the best tool available to any adwords advertiser. You are basically grouping your keywords HOW GOOLE WANTS YOU TO. Large lists of keywords grouped using this tool have always had a good quality score for us.
