Does anyone ever have "server too busy" errors when trying to post changes with adwords editor? I've been getting this readily.. I'm trying to post 150,000 keywords and can't!

are you doing something in your account web interface at the same time as posting?

If so, making changes via the web GUI while posting can cause a time out.

are all 150000 words in the same campaign?
best bet is to upload 1 campaign at a time & not put such a heavy load on AE

No, I'm not doing any changes via web. The account is upgraded to support 200k and yes they are for one campaign, which is the only one that has changes. I've tried about 10 times already with no success, maybe I have to wait till the middle of the night?

Do you know, is it possible that if there are errors with the change, such as invalid characters in keywords, that it will not post the changes? even though it allowed it be imported?

i upload 100k changes all the time... this should not be an issue. What type of internet connection are you on? How many adgroups are you using?

Its rare their servers go down, but you can try again in a few hours.

Interesting... I'm on cable modem, never really have time out issues.. It's all under one campaign and one ad group.

Just to be more specific, the error I'm getting is (Error Number: 108) AdWords Editor's most recent request of the AdWords system is too demanding to execute at this time. Please try again later. I'll submit a ticket to adwords and see if they have any ideas...

i have heard that error can be resolved by uninstalling and reinstalling.

Make sure to backup your unedited work before doing this

    Just tried twice.. no luck!

Thanks for your help, I've sent them an email, hopefully they'll be able to sort it out.

Is there any other way to import this volume of keywords? (via browse always locks up)

I was actually going to ask that... I've heard that the max. per ad group is 5,000 even if you have a higher limit of total keywords...

yeah i just confirmed there is a 2k keyword limit per adgroup.

Sorry i didn't catch this previously, its just common practice to only put 1k keywords per adgroup here, since yahoo's limits are 1k keywords and it makes conversion from google to yahoo difficult if there are more than this per adgroup.

I have a related problem: ads uploaded through AdWords Editor aren't showing in my AdWords account.

Anybody have this problem? This is the first time I'm using Editor.

    I figured it out.

Note to self: always click on "Ad variations" tab to check ads before posting stupid question in forums.

    Bah!
