Adwords Direct Linking Question - Duplicate Display URL?

Discussion in 'Google AdWords' started by inzpiration, Jul 30, 2009.

Hi guys, I'm about to test a new product, but just to test it i want to use direct linking, now, I've used Adwords int he past, but using my own landing pages, but this is the first time I'm going to try Direct Linking, my question is, If my Display URL has to match the Destination URL and the merchant/Product owner already has a campaign using his URL as a display URL, can I still put it in my campaign? Or what can I do?

    Regards

And that will be the one that ranks higher (a combination of quality score, bid and CTR).

Typically we avoid doing this, because the merchant will always have a higher ROI from PPC than an affiliate, so they can afford to bid higher.

You can still use the same URL... you may have to bid bit higher to start since you will not have any QS

Yes you can put up your add but you will be in competition with the merchant as google will only display one add of either one of you depending on you bid and QS. So you have too outbid the merchant pretty much

on using the same URL you need to spend a lot to rank better than your merchant/Product owner.

No Google always restricts on fictive redirected url. It's always better to place your original display and desigination url. If you promote your affiliate product then create an optimized landing page on your sub folder. If needed you can name it with your affliate name and you it to display ads.

Not quite. You can outrank the merchant and any other affiliate by having higher click rate ads, that is a higher quality score.

You can have a higher ctr and outrank the merchant, but still the best way is to have your own landing page. Or you should take under consideration that you are going to lose some money at the beginning.... I recommend a landing page
