Adwords content showing on Amazon.com's A9 search

I am currently enrolled in Amazon.com Clickriver beta. I was about to launch a campaign, when I notice that some of my ads from Google Adwords are showing up in certain searches and some aren't. I can't seem to get an answer from either company as to how they are connected.

My question is: If the A9 uses Google PPC for their sponsored links, then why would someone set up a separate campaign with Amazon.com?

I haven't done anything with the Amazon PPC since the kicked the site out I was working with for "competing" with them.

Anyway, my hunch would be they don't have enough of their inventory sold so they rotate Google Ads in to fill the empty space. Just a hunch.

To be shown on Amazon.com through Google, you need to be the top 1 or 2 advertiser on Google's Search Network...that can be relatively high CPC. But you might be able to get lower CPC through ClickRiver. Try it and see how it compares.

By the way, A9 uses Yahoo ads sometimes as well.
