Hello, I am new to adwords, wanna ask a few questions. When making a new campaign, In the Bidding and budget options, what to choose? manual or automatic CPC? and what are values to write? (i am sending traffic to webmaster forum). How much budge to set for a day? And also want to know about the pricing, how much price to set for an ad? Any help? A lil bit confused.
Hey gyahoo! I would choose manual cpc for each keyword because i like to see what the first page bid estimate is and then calculate how much daily budget would it take to make the best out of conversions for example signups on your forum. So, depending on the clicks/visits you get from Adwords you should probably set a good amount of money daily, i would go for 20-30$. I have created a thread here on dp, http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=2211265 Let me know if you are interested in my services.
I would second this, but make sure you monitor it. Monitor your ad to make sure it's converting and not just going through your money.
The simplest bidding option would be Max CPC per keyword. Did you define any goal beyond sending traffic to the forum? Conversions? Page views per user? Time on site? If you have such goal - it's recommended to set a "conversion tracking" mechanism. Afterwards go to "Dimensions" tab and add the "Conv..." columns to track how your visitors engage in your website. That way you can slice and dice the traffic by search term, location, time etc. If you don't have a goal other than maximum traffic you might consider running a campaign on Google's Display Network, where the CPCs tend to be lower. Anyway, don't mix Display and Search networks on the same campaign.
If you dont mind u have a great experience with adwords and the thing i have learnt is that manual bidding is great i want to say something you secret for free but not here i have tricks for 0.01$ per click for free so if any one wants pm me i will show you a great result
My two cents....I think manual bidding is fine but for someone new, I might recommend auto. The best thing I ever did was invest in Speed PPC (no I don't own it!). I think there are a lot of these PPC tools out there and possibly some better ones. But if you use it the correct way, you will be way ahead of the game. Also, when possible, use conversion tracking then implement the conversion optimizer. This is essential!
If you don't mind the system bidding for you, use Automatic Bidding. But keep in mind that it will try to get you top position according to your QS. I would not recommend this unless your QS was 10 or at least a 7. Lower scores will cost more. I prefer having control over the bid and never use auto. As I test ads and QS goes up, actual cost goes down. Improving your campaign is key if you want to reduce costs. Learn more in my Adwords FAQ.
Automatic will easily ran out your budget. So it good for you to manually set. So you can put more budget for campaign more important. Because more of people to run more than one campaign and which campaign which more important and lead more higher sales , there would like to bid more to get higher impression. You have to set base on the price of estimation from Google Adswords. You can pay higher than that or lower abit to maximise the result.
I suggest automatic bidding in the beginning and later go for manual bidding once you get control on the account.
