ADwords Campaigns...

So I'm setting up a new campaign for a new client I've got... the problem is he has 900+ products. Google only allows 25 campaigns. So I've been adding to each campaign, under the listings etc... my problem is I'm not sure I'm doing it correctly, and I know I have better bid management this way, but in overall budget terms I can't.

My question is, do any of you guys run thousands of items in your adwords account? If so, whats your general layout look like?

You can create thousands of ad groups. Use the campaigns for budgeting purposes (that's the level in which you set budgets) and build ad groups with that campaign(s) to each product.

My company has some 16,000 different part numbers in roughly 1000 different product groups. To simplify this in adwords, we broke it down into simlar categories. For instance, if you sell a variety of different clamps, group them together by type (i.e. wood clamps and/or vice clamps) and call that an ad group. Put all those various "clamp" ad groups together in one campaign and, depending on how well they sell for the company, set the campaign budget in accordance to how much the company makes off of those parts. You can modify the CPC to help manage the overall costs. For instance, a word that brings in 10,000 impressions a day might need to be toned back a little bit until you can get the right advert and negative keywords in place.

Thats what I've been doing, was just curious if there was an easier way to do it like there is with yahoo. I've been spending 3500$/mo with yahoo, but thats pretty much where its max'd out for my niche. Now I'm hoping to get the client into adwords. His last exp. with adwords was horrible, so were taking it slow. Lucky for me he's only got 700 products. :)
