It used to be so simple a couple years back, to get your campaign up and running.
You have to dedicate a whole 2 hours to get a campaign running with so many hoops
to jump, loops you have to maneuver around. "Position preference, delivery method (advanced)
Show relevant addresses with your ads (advanced) Etc. Etc...." geezus christ It's a turn off.

    your thoughts??

Why is it so difficult?? Its all on one page to configure. And yes its GOOD they are giving out more and more features :) Hope they also allow us to target according to Browsers.

You don't need to use and set up all of the options. You can choose starter edition and run your ads in couple minutes.

If you are going to be spending money on something you WANT it to be complicated. If its worth doing then its worth doing right for goodness sake!
Also the increasing difficulty level puts off newcomers which means less competition for you, so its all good :)

Two whole hours - if you cant spare it just watch less crap tv!

Please don't give me this holier than thou crap, because you
know your way around the system. the facts are that there are
a ton of threads here on DP adwords of users asking for help
for this and for that, and this notion of wanting it to be difficult
is also a bunch of crap, As a business you want to make things
    plug and play easy..

With competition, newbies are far from getting clicks. All the optimization stuff may be left for the experts.

Anyone can get a campaign up and running, but running it properly does take some dedication. There is a lot to learn, and if you're not willing then it might not be a great idea for you.

If you just put up any old ad with default settings you're not going to get a good response. But if you do it that way its easy, it takes like 2 minutes. Put in some keywords, write an ad, and you're done. Is it seriously that hard??

I set up my first adwords campaign the other week with very little prior knowledge about it. I found that it was quite simple to use, although there are a few things you need to understand first like the what the different terms means, but I think the fact that there is very little initial outlay and that you can set a budget per day allows you to experiment and learn as you go...? I think it's easy to set up, but like Vitg said, takes time and dedication to get right.

I started using Google Awords just last week for the first time and I found it very easy it set everything up and get my ads running. Only took a half hour or less and the hardest part was making my ad sound good. After only a week I am getting a good number of clicks to my site and generating a large amount of new visitors. I really like the option of setting up a daily budget; it definitely gives you some room to play around with some numbers. Not sure what the big fuss is over....? Having and keeping a positive mind is the best tool someone can have when doing something new for the first time.
