I have had a quick look around and just wondered if there is any tips on how to tweak/track a campaign. I can't seem to get to grips with it and I think that's why I'm failing to get the hang of affiliate marketing. If anyone has a url or a link to a post in here I would appreciate it. Thanks. Richard
First step is put the google conversion code on your thank page after a sale is made, (if you have access to the page). If you don't, then you need to ask the owner to put it there for you, (assuming you're doing affiliate marketing). Campaign management starts before you even set it up. Set up your rules, set up your goals, set up your maximum bids and maximum spends per keyword. Then it's just a matter of following the rules you set up.
Ah right, is there anything on the net that could assist me with the "after setup" tasks such as tweaking and monitoriing its performance? Thanks
Seriously, PPC-Coach's advice was what you needed to hear, make absolutely sure you have conversion tracking up. Make your goals 100% clear. After that login everyday to see how your ads are fairing up - use A/B split testing to see if you can get a better CTR. Check your referrer logs for referring keyphrases that don't correspond with the kind of user intent you want from a visit - add them as negative keyphrases. This is pretty much how a campaign is monitored and improved not including improvements to landing page quality score
Do you have a marketing degree? Any marketing experience whatsoever? Are you selling landing pages, or trying to be an affiliate marketer? Have you spent any money on books about marketing? Taken a course? You need to invest in yourself before sitting down at GoogleCasino and dumping money into the coffers..... It sounds like you're basically playing roulette without any understanding of how the game is played. That is the road to going broke in a NY minute.
