I have a local tutoring company website I have been running adwords for. I set the campaigns regionally based on the metro area. The highly competitive words like "tutoring" go for $2.50 a click and the low competitive keywords don't seem to be clicked on. I have around 150 keywords. I have been spending $150 a month, and getting quality leads, but a few leads at a high price. Would some sort of campaign management or just a review by a PPC expert help my situation?
Well you said yourself that you are getting quality leads from your investment in this advertising. Are you having a specific problem or are you just wondering how you can generally improve the performance of your campaign? I would say that you don't really need anybody else giving you advice about your campaign because you have all of the information and statistics. Just learn from your experience and your campaign will improve over time.
ideally, I would like an experienced adwords person to look at my campaign for 10 to 15 minutes or however long it takes, and help me optimize it. getting more quality leads for less.
Have you looked at what ad is getting you the most traffic? what I have done is then make a copy of that ad and tweak it slightly and let it run for a few days and then tweak again. There is no hard and fast rules at this point or with the information you have posted where I can get you a great idea that will bump up your leads and clicks. It's now all about tweaking and optimizing your ads.
I have played around with 5-6 ad variations and am using the one with the best clickthrough rate. Every person that signs up is worth hundreds of dollars per month in residual income. I just want more to convert (by filling out a form on my site) for the money I am spending.
Whats your CTR from adwords. If it's pretty high then your Ad is ok. If your losing them on your landing page then you need to optimize your landing page a bit more. There are quite a few people in the Review section who you could give your URL of your landing page to and get a decent user review of it, or if you didn't want to give the URL maybe screen capture it and give them the picture. I'm at the same stage you are. I've got a great CTR on one of my campaigns now it's just a question of converting them on my landing page.
I work on CTR per ad. Are you using diffrent ad groups as well or lump all your keywords under one ad group? My best performing ad has a CTR of 0.87% which I think is pretty damn high. But about 40% of them i lose on my landing page. So I'm currently re-doing my landing page.
cool, my best ad is .52 clickthrough and conversion rate is arouns 2%. Should my conversion rate be a lot higher?
Well are you happy with 2%? are you making money? comes down to that question really. If your paying $50 per day on adwords lets say and you getting a 2% conversion but your earning from those two conversion a total of $60 then your doing ok, Your in the black. I would always try and optimize it. e.g tweaking how much it costs per click on adwords and tweaking the landing page so you get a 5% conversion rate so your getting $150 per day and it's still costing you the same. In this game it's all about tweaking and testing and re-testing.
May I suggest that before hiring a PPC company to review your account, you work through the following guide: http://www.epiphanysolutions.co.uk/google-adwords/ It's written for people advertising on Adwords for the first time (though there's some interesting stuff in there even if you've been at it for a while).
I think at 2% your convertion rate could be improved. Read CustardMites guide to make sure your campaign is in good shape and then focus on your landing pages. Have a look into Multi Variant testing or at least split testing. When you have the ultimate landing page and sales funnel THEN look into increasing your spend as it will mean you can get a higher return than you are currently getting. It amazes me how many people do not at least semi-test their conversion process before throwing money into PPC advertising. Think of it this way: You have a fancy restaurant. You are almost ready to go but the wallpaper is not done. Do you advertise in the local paper immediately because the kitchen is ready to cook? Or do you wait until the wallpaper is ready and the restaurant is looking perfectly beautiful and chic?
I have made some changes to the landing page. I have added a table summarizing my features and a link directly to fill out a form. what do you think? crowntutoring.com
your page require 2 clicks to go to the form , You can try this Have a short 4 field form on the main page (crowntutoring.com) (including email and phone number) and when the user click submit, you can prefil the fields in the second (final landing) page., This may give you the email id and phone of a prospective customer who dint fill the full page, which you can use in future., This is just an advice, i think it should work well in increased conversions but i cant guarantee though. Also the color of " Click here for Your FREE In Home Assessment" is not as bright and eye catchy as that of the color of Call Now! For a page like yours, people may expect some testimonials., If you have some testimonials from your satified customers you can use them to put on the page. How much is the bounce rate on your site from google? (those who come and instantly leaves without clicking on any other link) Do you target on content network too?
hmm interesting. your idea is to have a short 4 line form on the homepage, and when they submit it takes them to landing page prefilling those four lines. If they choose not complete the landing page, then I still have the four pieces of info. Did I get it? thanks for the comments
yeah , you are right, i just meant that., Even if the user dint fill the full form, you still have their email id and phone number which u can use for follow ups
Hi, I offer consultancy on export marketing. I use adwords and my CTR is around 1% and conversion is 60-64%. Yes, you read it correct. I do nothing with the collected leads. I have set up followup responders who chase the guy for 8 to 9 times till he drops out of the list (or remains dormant) or contacts me on my cell for business quote. I have authored a book on e Marketing and know the process pretty exactly. I am short of time and seeking help of campaign managers. Still, it would be a pleasure to help (any one of you) if needed. regards Prasaad
